Synopsis
Two stories set in C. C. Blake's pulpy space opera future ... this time featuring brushes with cosmic nightmare! EVER GET THAT SINKING SENSATION? When Rick delivers a shipment to a galactic rim oceanic world, he expects a long ride out, a brief stop-off where he can get a warm meal, and then a departure back to better colonized space. However, he instead finds himself trapped on a sinking complex swarming with mysterious creatures a lunatic local has dubbed Hungers. Although his reason might be gone on most things, Rick must admit the name is catchy and true. Can Rick and a plucky gang of survivors get to the HotTicket before they all become lunch for the monstrous intruders? Find out in "Rick Cave in the Shadow" by C. C. Blake. IS HE PROPHET OR DEVIL? When her lover and partner is hospitalized after running a mission for the secretive Malleus Libram Society, Myorca is confronted with a couple of ugly truths. First and foremost, the Society they are collecting mythos lore and artifacts for, ostensibly to keep them out of the hands of bad people, may well be the bad people themselves. Second, the fiend responsible for her lover's hurts is still busy spreading corruption and evil ... and needs to be stopped. Her lover was unsuccessful in carrying out her mission, and now it appears to be Myorca's turn up at bat. Will Myorca succeed where Ulele failed, or is she being set up for an even bigger fall?
