Synopsis

In Love Knot, Linda Knowlton Appel offers poems about her husband Gene, their life together, and his dementia and death. In beautiful imagery and reflections at once kind and incisive, the poems here speak of love and family, of growing understanding and adapting to one another, and of loss and continuation. In her introduction Appel writes, "Like most marriages ours had its ups and downs. The intersection of our very different personalities and histories and the stresses of life's problems and vicissitudes made that inevitable. But we stuck it out and learned to love and to appreciate each other more and more fully. ... I hope that readers will recognize something of themselves in these poems."
