Heather Sutherland is the creator of The Nightshades. She writes the stories, handcrafts the needle-felted dolls and their props, and photographs the scenes that bring their world to life. From the characters she makes by hand to the images on the page, her children's books grow out of her own artwork and storytelling. Heather is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
