Synopsis
When Ty Unglebower's mother Eva died after a brief poorly-treated illness, and a final week suffering from delusions in the hospital, he was unsure whether or not his creative drive had died with her. Months later, having written a single prose-poem about creating for the first time after her death, the year following led to composition of nearly 50 such prose poems that make up this collection.
Ranging from grief and depression, curiosity and concern, observation and adventure, the honest and evocative poetry in After Eva represents a departure as well as a return for the poet;--a departure from his normal, comfortable and conventional relationship with poetry, as well as a return to the creative drive he has always had.
