A famous novelist hooked on booze and pills; an insane ex-movie star desperate for money; a TV actress with an obsession; a magazine editor who wants to rule the world; and a young man on a journey of self-discovery. These are the people you will meet in "The Ones You Leave Behind".
Uptight, conservative, 20-year-old Jamie Colt returns home to New York City for Christmas in 1974. His mother is Jackie St. Jacques-a larger than life novelist notorious for her trashy books. When Jamie realizes he is gay, he enters a strange and exciting new world that offers a career, friends, romance, and more drama than he bargained for.

I started writing in 1999 when I was 28 years old and got my very first computer. I was new to the Internet and books in electronic binding were becoming the next big thing in publishing. It was a really exciting time. I remember trying to get my first book, a raunchy and offensive 40,000 word novel about a teenage female punk band called "Babes of Destruction", published by a UK ebook publisher called MPro Bookstore EBook Express. They never officially turned me down, their response was an email that said "We just don't know what to do with this", and that was pretty much it. I ended up getting it published at a site called...well I can't remember what it was called, but "Babes" was downloaded 3,000 times. Since then, I've been consistently turning out amateurish but fun books that would appeal to...well I'm still trying to figure that out. In fact, I've been proudly and consistently below average in all of my creative efforts, be it painting acrylic works of art, playing the bass guitar (the first two strings only), making movies, and writing novels. Maybe it's my autism that motivates me to keep writing and publishing my awful novels, and that is why they're free to read. Honestly, I do it because it's what makes me happy. I'm perfectly content being a bad writer, a subpar bass player, a crap painter, and the director of horrible movies shot on video. But my husband likes my creations, so I guess that's all that matters.
