Synopsis

In the late 1970s Whit Blanchard from rural McPherson, Kansas learns at age nineteen that his best friend Richard has committed suicide. His response is to pause his art studies at Kansas State to travel alone abroad. Sketch book in hand, he sorts the emotions of his friendship with Richard while also seeking what it means to be an artist. He visits Spain where he befriends Hernan from Venezuela. Together they travel to Lisbon, and Tangier, where the romance of travel begins as surely as it ends.
