ANCHOR-07 Book 1 of The Hollow Frequency Series
The face wasn't torn away, wasn't bloody, wasn't ruined by any violence. Just smooth skin, blank as a wall, where eyes and a mouth were supposed to be. Like someone had reached into this world and erased them clean.
The thing living in Detective Sarah Reyes's head pulsed in recognition. Almost saying yes. Pay attention to this!
It's been there since the night her brother Michael vanished without a trace. It's never explained itself. It's never had to. It creeps in, feeds on memory, takes what it wants. Right now, what it wants is for her to find something underneath the dam.
Through a rusted hatch. Into a black stone corridor. Into places that shouldn't exist, chasing answers to exactly what the static in her head has been pressing her toward for seventeen years.
What she finds down there doesn't just study people. It keeps them. Fused into the walls, half-swallowed by black stone and dark metal, some of them, she's almost certain, still aware, still trying to finish a scream that started years ago.
She makes it out and whatever's still down there keeps following her. Something ancient starts hunting her through the New Hampshire backcountry: things wearing human shapes that stopped being human a long time ago, armored soldiers with nothing alive behind the visor, and, worse, a version of Michael's own voice, calling her deeper, promising her he's still in there if she'll just come find him.
She's not the only one it's marked. A handful of survivors have been hiding from it for years, hollowed out by what they've seen and still fighting anyway, and Sarah has to decide how far she's willing to go, and what she's willing to become, to save the ones still breathing.
The trail ends in Goffstown, at an asylum that closed its doors decades ago but never stopped working. Below it: a cemetery with hundreds of graves, marked only by numbers, built on a hundred years of experiments the town was never supposed to remember.
Some voices in your head are just noise. Hers has been waiting seventeen years to speak.
Perfect for readers of psychic thrillers, cosmic horror, and slow-burn supernatural mysteries.
