The God who become person.
Jesus is Real! Many near death experience has claimed they saw Jesus. The declared they saw his face and know what is the truth. Jesus is the truth.
If you are looking for the truth, You will find a person — with a name, a face, a voice, a history. Love always comes attached to this one, and not to anything.
Which is exactly why Jesus is difficult for the modern mind.
The modern mind wants a system. He offers Himself.
John opens his Gospel with the most audacious sentence ever written. He takes Logos — the Greek word for the rational principle behind the cosmos, the ancient world's closest thing to a theory of everything — and says:
He has a face.
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us.
LOGOS walks His life. Not a doctrine about Him — the life, in order:
The thirty years in a town people made jokes about, working with His hands, obeying His mother — because if the Son of God spent ninety percent of His life in obscurity, your ordinary week is not a waiting room.
The voice at the river, spoken over an empty résumé — I love you, I am pleased with you — before He had achieved a single thing. And then a tempter in a desert whose every line is the same word: prove it.
The miracles He kept trying to stop people talking about. The parables designed to walk around behind your defences and convict you. The table that got Him killed — because what the religious establishment could never forgive was not His theology. It was who He ate with.
And then a garden, where He fell apart on the ground and begged to be let off, and used the household word anyway. A hill, where the mockers stated the Gospel and thought they were making fun of Him. A tomb, found open by the least credible witnesses in the ancient world — which is precisely why the story has never been explained away.
Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father.
He is not saying He resembles God. He is saying: look at Me, and you are looking at what God is like.
Which means everything you believe about God — every fear, every suspicion that He is watching and is not pleased — is now open to inspection. You don't have to take anyone's word for it.
You can go and read about him.
