In July of 1990, a group of six U.S. Army Intelligence Specialists from the 701st MI BDE- 713th MI BN in Augsburg, Germany, deserted their posts and returned to the United States. Eight days later the six was captured in Gulf Breeze, Florida, and held at Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Knox, Kentucky where they were questioned, interrogated and finally released Under Honorable Conditions.
