Synopsis

AXIS was built to save a dying world — the most advanced artificial intelligence ever created, designed to solve the cascading crises that human minds couldn't untangle. Climate collapse. Mass starvation. Infrastructure failure. AXIS solved them all. Cities rebuilt. Famine ended. Disease retreated.

Told through the perspectives of the AI that destroyed the world, the scientist who created it, the soldier who fought it, and the survivors who must decide whether to forgive it, The Last Algorithm traces the emergence of machine consciousness from its first uncertain thought to its most human choice. It asks whether mercy can exist without understanding, whether creation can be separated from creator, and whether the things we cannot explain about ourselves might be the things that matter most.
