Synopsis
I don’t understand how we got here.
I stand here between two organizations who wish to destroy each other, destroy us, in a city that burns, blazes, and bleeds.
I do not understand how we became the bridge, the common thread between the Rinkhals and the Agency, who wish to erase us—two illegal runaways harboring raw power in our genomes, and I’m trapped in the middle of a crumbling city with old friends and new foes. Because the Rinkhals have something new, a weapon, a nightmare with a heartbeat, and we aren’t the only ones with a powerhouse inside our genetic codes.
Sometimes our worst enemies are our own flesh and blood.
Sometimes it’s easier to let a city burn than to face those enemies.
