Synopsis
THE TELEPHONE OF THE WIND
After a great wave changes everything, twelve-year-old Takumi and his teenage sister Mia struggle to understand how to live without their father. High on a hill above their seaside town stands a small glass telephone booth. Inside is an old phone that isn’t connected to anything at all—except the wind.
Each week, Takumi climbs the hill to speak into the phone, sending his words across the sea. At first, Mia thinks it is silly. An old fashion land phone that isn’t plugged in can’t possibly work… or can it?
When their mother and grandmother join them, each finds the courage to speak—sharing memories, love, and the everyday moments that still matter. Slowly, Mia begins to understand that some connections don’t need wires at all.
Inspired by the real Telephone of the Wind in Japan, this gentle and hopeful story explores grief, healing, and the enduring power of love. Through wind, nature, and family, Takumi and Mia discover that even when someone is gone, love still finds a way to be heard.
