This book is written to restore seriousness to the subject of chakras. In
recent decades the chakra system has been simplified into colored
diagrams and emotional affirmations. While these interpretations may be
helpful for beginners, they do not represent the depth found in classical
yogic and tantric literature. The ancient yogis did not describe chakras
as symbolic psychological ideas. They experienced them directly
through disciplined practice of pranayama, meditation, mantra, and
tapas. What they mapped was not imagination but lived inner
perception.
The intention of this work is to bring together three streams of
knowledge that are rarely integrated properly. The first is traditional
yogic and tantric scripture. The second is the modern understanding of
the endocrine system and nervous system.
The third is the practical experience of how prana behaves in the human
body when it is disturbed or balanced. When these three are studied
together, the chakra system becomes intelligible, grounded, and
clinically relevant rather than mystical and vague.
This book does not claim that every disease is caused only by chakras.
Nor does it reduce the complexity of human health to simplistic energy
explanations. Instead it explores how pranic imbalance can influence
glandular secretion, nervous system regulation, emotional stability, and
eventually physical health. The yogic model sees the human being as
layered, and disturbance often begins in the subtler layers before
appearing in tissue. Understanding this process gives us tools for Prevention and correction
