Synopsis

Anthony Cross loves procedures, controlled variables, and days that end without anyone bleeding, slipping, suing, or setting something on fire. As Dalton’s risk and liability specialist, he prefers order, prevention, and people who understand that “vibes” are not an operations plan.

Ogden “Oggie” Lark is not that person.

Oggie is a charming coastal lobster vendor with a flashy pop-up, a big heart, and a dangerous tendency to treat rules like polite suggestions. When his partnership with Mick’s pub draws crowds, hot equipment, and brand-new risk exposure, Anthony is brought in to make the event insurable. Oggie is less than thrilled to be told where to place his coolers, how to manage his lines, and why romance paperwork is, in fact, not romantic.

But as one successful event turns into another, Anthony starts to realize Oggie isn’t careless—he’s just open in ways Anthony has never allowed himself to be. And Oggie begins to see that Anthony’s caution isn’t coldness. It’s care. Real care. The kind that protects people before they even know they need protecting.

When outside pressure, corner-cutting partners, and a media-fueled liability storm threaten the pop-up, Anthony and Oggie have to decide whether they’re willing to choose integrity together—even if it means choosing each other in public, too.

Set in the warm, meddling, casserole-powered town of Dalton, Maine, Lobster, Liability & Long Looks is a small-town romantic comedy full of competence, tenderness, banter, found family, and one extremely flirtatious safety plan.
