Synopsis

IN THE BEGINNING is a literary science fiction novel following three threads across deep time, distant worlds, and a present-day discovery.

On a dying planet, an advanced population faces an impossible choice as disaster looms. What follows is not a clean escape, but a fractured bid for survival that leaves unwitting participants altered in ways they cannot fully grasp.

In the aftermath of that escape, these remnants struggle to survive in an alien environment where resources are scarce, and knowledge is fragmentary. Their survival hangs in the balance, and the choices they make will define their future and their legacy.

In the present day, project architect Daniel Corbin gets drawn into a seemingly routine excavation in Morocco. As the work advances, subtle anomalies begin to surface: misaligned patterns and clues that defy standard interpretation. What starts as a minor probe slowly deepens into something far more unsettling.

IN THE BEGINNING ... fuses detailed archaeological insight with speculative science, cultivating a subtle, relentless tension as its threads reverberate. In the tradition of Michael Crichton and Ted Chiang, it offers a restrained, provocative inquiry into origins, memory, and the fragile stories we shape to understand ourselves.
