Beneath the endless forests and frozen lakes of Finland lives a mythology born not from fantasy, but from survival.
In the winter of 1996, author Todd Fischer traveled deep into the north searching for the ancient spiritual traditions of the Finnic peoples. What began as an investigation into folklore and the Kalevala slowly transformed into something far more personal: a journey through silence, wilderness, memory, and the psychological landscapes that gave birth to myth itself.
Moving through remote villages, frozen rivers, abandoned cemeteries, northern forests, and the vast darkness of Lapland, Fischer encounters the lingering echoes of an older world where songs held power, forests possessed presence, and the boundary between mythology and human consciousness felt dangerously thin.
Exploring the Finnish Mythos is part travel memoir, part folklore investigation, and part philosophical meditation on humanity's ancient relationship with nature, isolation, death, and meaning. Atmospheric, haunting, and deeply reflective, the book explores not only the old gods of Finland, but the emotional realities that continue to keep them alive beneath the surface of the modern world.
Because some myths are never truly forgotten.
They simply wait beneath the snow.

Todd's career path has provided him with the reasoned perspective required to thoughtfully examine any number of topics.Todd is a perpetual pupil of theology and is an expert in comparative religious study with knowledge in over 4000 religions and mythologies. He has also documented over 300 case studies: with research ranging from near death experience, possession, out of body experience, past life experience, roaming souls and other metaphysical and paranormal cases. He is an ordained minister and is the Founder of the International Association of Metatomics, a not-for-profit wellness research company.Todd Fischer grew up in the bible belt of the Midwest, in a small town with a population of just 20,000 people. In that small town there were 54 churches in just 34 square miles including the headquarters of two major international churches. Born into Catholicism, he never doubted the existence of God. However, he believes that to know and speak of God is a vocation that requires more than academic or professional qualifications. He believes God cannot be empirically examined because God is the creator of all things and explaining God's plan poses unique challenges. Those challenges became the basis of Metatomics. Human beings have put limitations on faith and are looking for other explanations. Metatomics is the study of how to speak truly of God and of all things in relation to God through science, hypothesis, and research.Mr. Fischer is the author of the bestselling book that started a spiritual revolution "METATOMICS: The Grand Design" (Simon & Schuster/Metacortex Publishing), and the Advanced Metatomics series which includes "ADVANCED METATOMICS: Physiological Attunement", "ADVANCED METATOMICS: Tenets of the Soul", "ADVANCED METATOMICS: Embodied Practices", and "ADVANCED METATOMICS: Operational Power Dynamics" (Metacortex Publishing). Todd is also the Producer of many podcasts, including "Quest", which he hosts and several that he co-hosts. He is also developing an adventure-travel show that documents the research conducted by the International Association of Metatomics around the world.
