The aliens known as the Dirge crashed into our planet 200 years ago with every intent on taking over our world. They were smart, adaptable, and aggressive, and we. we were unprepared. The Dirge saw humans as the workforce and our world as fertile and ripe for a takeover. They tried to make our planet more suitable for them by terraforming earth. Our world was forever changed. What it caused drastic changes to our atmosphere and gravity. We lost the capabilities of air travel and space flight in the process, essentially cutting earth off from the rest of the galaxy. Our best and brightest scientists, with the help of artificial intelligence, devised a way to give humans an advantage in the fight. They called the process Splicing. The procedure involves the combining of animal DNA with human DNA. The first Spliced humans gave us the ability to fight back more effectively. Two centuries later and we are still fighting. The earth is broken. Mankind is scattered in a future filled with cybernetics, androids, elementals, aliens, artificial intelligence, mutants, and mythological monsters.
