When an unnatural winter descends on Central California in the middle of autumn, something ancient awakens. Streets freeze. Fog pulses like it has intent. And from the depths of a fractured earth rises a villain known only as Black Rime. A cryo-terrorist with a plan to punish humanity by rewriting the climate itself.
But the cold has also remembered something else.
Shawn Rourke, a decorated sergeant and father, feels the pull of something deeper, something encoded in the fabric of who he is. As reality itself bends around him, a transformation begins.
