Synopsis
The Fable of the Sun and the Moon
The dragons tell that in their distant world, a Sun full of vigor and
proud fire fell in love with the faraway Moon, bluish and beautiful.
Strong and brave, he tried to reach her day after day, for millennia, but
she, elusive, always slipped away in the distance — bound to a cruel
fate that would not allow her to be embraced for long.
The duty of the Sun was to warm and give life to the creatures of the
day, to protect them from cold and shadow. The duty of the Moon
was to carry her gentle light to the nocturnal beings, so their souls
would not remain blind in the darkness.
Their destiny was to live apart, to maintain the balance of all things
forever. Otherwise, all life would perish.
Thus the centuries passed, condemned to eternal responsibilities. And
yet, though she always hid when he appeared, there were fleeting
moments when they could look at one another: a few seconds at
dawn, and others at dusk.
Brief moments, but enough for Sun and Moon to fall so deeply in
love that they forgot their destinies.
The Sun, determined, at last reached her.
And the Moon, curious to know love, stood still, allowing him to kiss
her.
Then the light of both joined in a single flash…
and vanished into an eclipse of eternal love.
