Synopsis

He dies at fifty-one and expects nothing but an anticlimactic curtain call. Instead Steven Thompson wakes up in a womb — fully conscious, fully alive, and still carrying the entire, messy luggage of his previous life. Somewhere between a heavenly bureaucracy and a cosmic HR department, a clerk called Derek botched a routine memory reset, and now Steven is back with a second chance, a foul mouth, and a very long to-do list.

Part road-trip, part revenge manifesto, BORN AGAIN is a darkly comic ride through parenthood, bureaucracy and the butterfly effects of second chances. Steven plans to be the son, father and man he should have been: protect his parents, outwit his bully brother, and maybe — if the universe lets him — stop a few tragedies along the way. Problem is, changing the past is messy, sometimes catastrophic, and frequently hilarious.

Sharp, profane and surprisingly tender, this is a novel about memory, responsibility, and what it really means to get a fresh start.
