With 3 years in the making now, Letters You Never Read is an ode to all the things that JanJan Chan said too late. Touching on topics that Chan has gone through in their 19 years of life thus far; growing up with immigrant parents, struggling with romantic and platonic relationships, mental illnesses, the after effects of sexual assault and rape, body image, and many other growing pains that teenagers in the 21st century have to deal with.
This book as a collection of about 100 poems that Chan has wrote along with illustrations drawn by their best friend, Carlia Chiu. This book is for those who always put others before themselves, those who yearn to speak but don't have the courage, those who feel they are in a situation that is impossible to relate to, and those who simply feel.
