Human Rights is one reason why the individual takes up metaphorical arms against a world of tyranny. David's personal struggle was against what he believed to be people afflicted by denial and logic lessness. His early journey into the world of healing was made whilst he was working on a suicide chatline for a decent wage back home in Irelands Southern Republic. Though he was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, The South was where his family had moved to as refugees to escape “The Troubles.”
He knew that the average young person was experiencing the very same things he was. Stressed out people without any sensitivity for others. The percent of students in Irish Colleges and in Colleges around the world that were experiencing stress in recent years had exploded. People found it hard to concentrate when there was so much going on in their heads.
Student Councillors, Psychologists and Priests were over burdened by what was becoming a type of stress epidemic. He felt he had to contribute and become a shoulder to cry on. For many hundreds of callers he was their saviour. Making people laugh at his witty anecdotes. Listening to their stories and offering the advice he was hired to offer. The only problem for him was the people he had to work with.
