What happens when two of the most iconic kid detective teams in literary history run headfirst into a mystery designed by a man who thinks he’s Shakespeare with a spotlight budget?
Chaos.
Absolute chaos.
When the Beardy Kids arrive at the crumbling Bellman Grand Hotel, they expect the usual: suspects, clues, maybe a dramatic chase scene or two. Instead, they walk into a full-blown theatrical production—one directed by the increasingly feral Dr. Peregrine Bracewell, a self-proclaimed genius who insists the boys are “essential characters” in his grand narrative.
Unfortunately, Bracewell forgot one small detail:
He never asked them to be in his show.
To make things worse (and infinitely more hilarious), the Oversized Child Adults arrive with their own opinions, their own theories, and their own Fitty. Suddenly, the case is less about solving a crime and more about dodging falling scenery, dismantling booby-trapped stage cues, and figuring out why a kid named E.P. knows more about rigging than any twelve-year-old should.
As the director’s script unravels—and the hotel literally does too—the greatest detective rivalry of all time might be forced to work together to save the day, rescue a terrified boy, and prevent a finale that could only be described as “structurally unsound.”
Perfect for fans of mystery classics, witty parodies, and stories where the villain is defeated by basic fire safety regulations.
The Case of the Missing Plot is a fast-paced, character-driven comedy full of layered meta-jokes, heartfelt moments, and enough falling props to give any stage manager nightmares.
The curtain is rising.
The floor is collapsing.
And absolutely no one knows their lines.
