Synopsis
Some ruins are buried to be forgotten. Others are sealed because they should never be opened.
Agoth is a Delver—one of the few gifted individuals capable of interacting with the ancient artifacts left behind by the Deep Folk, a civilization that vanished beneath the world centuries ago. When he arrives in the port city of Red Peak to answer a summons from an old family friend, he expects a routine investigation.
Instead, he finds a ruin that should not exist—and a truth his father may have died to keep hidden.
As Agoth descends into the depths beneath Red Peak, he and his companions uncover a structure that is not merely abandoned, but waiting. What begins as a scholarly excavation becomes a confrontation with a living system—one designed to contain a catastrophic threat, and willing to exact a terrible cost from those who would awaken it.
Guided by a mentor carrying secrets of his own, and haunted by the shadow of a father thought lost, Agoth must decide whether knowledge is worth the price it demands—and whether some legacies are meant to be reclaimed, or finally laid to rest.
