A tragicomedy of fatherhood, existential dread, and really bad dates.
After losing his wife to a used car dealer named “Lumpy” (yes, Lumpy), high school philosophy teacher Sweeney finds himself broke, heartbroken, and living in a shoebox apartment with his six-year-old daughter and a deeply suspicious beanbag chair. Oh, and he’s being haunted by the ghostly counsel of Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard, and Nietzsche, who’ve taken it upon themselves to manage his online dating profile like it’s a moral thought experiment.
Now, Sweeney must survive single fatherhood, grief, therapy, school meltdowns, a mime date, and several emotional ambushes involving avocado toast — all while trying to figure out what love really means... if it means anything at all.
For fans of absurd wisdom, failed romances, and small triumphs whispered over pillow forts.
