Synopsis

For two decades, Detective Liam Trout has prowled Chicago's mean streets, but the city he once knew is slipping away beneath his feet. Gang wars have given way to boardroom brutality, and when his partner Melody walks away for a chance at happiness, Trout finds himself swimming alone in increasingly murky waters.

The ghosts won't leave him be. Texas Jack's death still echoes in empty alleyways, and his father's badge weighs heavier than a loaded 1911 should. Trout drowns his sorrows in dive bars and all-night diners, searching for something he can't name in the city's forgotten corners.

Then the mysterious Serafina arrives. Red hair like a warning, secrets like weapons. She knows things about Trout's past that should have stayed buried, and her presence threatens to drag him into depths he's spent years avoiding. In a Chicago where old loyalties mean nothing and new enemies wear thousand-dollar suits, Trout faces his hardest case yet: figuring out who he really is.

The mirror shows him a man caught between the cop he was and the stranger he's becoming. In this concrete jungle where heroes die forgotten and villains get corner offices, Liam Trout may discover he's exactly what his name suggests—a fish out of water in a world that no longer needs him.
