Synopsis

This is an art book, featuring designs from high school students in South Africa. The work explores secret meanings within a coded language called Rose. In this language, every character has a particular meaning, and symbols explore those meanings. For example, N can be read as the HIghest Truth, or simply as honestly, or as deceitful and tricky--depending on what symbol is used.

This work expands on Deena's hypertext poem Stained Word Windows, As one layer of complexity, the work is translated into Spanish, Catalan, and Gujarti, giving more connotations in each language. But in each language, characters are changed into Rose characters, providing even more meaning.
