Joseph was a young boy deeply loved by his father, Jacob, who gave him a colorful coat. His ten older brothers became jealous of him, especially after he shared dreams that showed he would one day be greater than them. Their jealousy led them to sell Joseph into slavery in Egypt and lie to their father, claiming he was dead.
In Egypt, Joseph remained faithful and worked hard. He was wrongly accused and put in prison, but he still trusted God. Eventually, he interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams with God’s help, predicting seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Pharaoh promoted Joseph to a high position, second only to the king.
During the famine, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy food. Joseph forgave them instead of taking revenge. He told them that although they intended harm, God used it for good to save many lives. He brought his whole family to live in Egypt, reuniting with his father and showing love and care.
Key Lessons:
God is always with us, especially in hard times (Romans 8:28).
Truthfulness and obedience bring reward (Proverbs 10:6).
Jealousy and lies lead to destruction (Proverbs 14:30).
Forgiveness brings healing, and we should forgive as God forgives us (Matthew 18:35).
God can turn pain into purpose and turn bad situations into good (Genesis 50:20).
Wisdom, success, and promotion come from God (Psalm 75:6-7).
Dreams and gifts from God can open doors (Proverbs 18:16).
Love is essential—those who do not love do not know God (1 John 4:7-8).
Joseph’s life teaches us to trust God, forgive others, and stay faithful—because God’s plan is always good, even when we don’t understand it.
