Synopsis
In the fourth and final book of the Below the Surface series, Ozias Chase, a young soldier who came down to the Underworld with Correll's cadre, is forced to deal with moral conflicts and dilemmas when he falls in love with Nahanni, the heir to the chieftainship of Tanhaia, and realizes there are no good guys or bad guys in a war. If he fights on Nahanni's side, he'll be fighting people he grew up with in the Complex and contributing to the death of his own parents, but betraying the underworld and its people is equally impossible. Chase narrates the events of his final months underground, the long-anticipated invasion from the surface, and the tribe's final battle for freedom.
