Synopsis

The Stories of Mark Joshua – Volume 2 invites young readers on a journey of imagination and values. Written by Mark Joshua Atalaya López, a talented Peruvian child author and musician, this collection of six tales blends adventure, fantasy and moral lessons.

In “The Portal of Good and Evil,” siblings Sofía and Leo confront mythical gates and discover that greed and bravery carry consequences. “The End of the World Cup” transports readers to a suspenseful soccer final in 2025 where heart and perseverance matter more than predictions. “The Dragon, Princess Alondra and the Knight Alexis” celebrates courage and dedication as a humble knight rescues a princess and wins a kingdom’s gratitude.

“Andrés the Sailor” braves storms and monsters for love, while “A Family That Traveled Around the World” follows Esteban and his family from humble beginnings in Peru to a global adventure spanning all seven wonders. Along the way he faces illness, overcomes obstacles, meets famous footballers and even discovers unexpected family ties. The final story, “The Adventures of José Anselmo and His Cousin Mark Joshua,” shows two cousins learning to balance extremes of heat and cold, discovering superpowers and celebrating friendship.

Each story closes with reflective questions that encourage children to think about the lessons learned, making this book perfect for family reading or classroom discussion.

Beyond the tales, readers will meet Mark Joshua in a short biography. Born in 2016 in Chachapoyas, Peru, he began singing at four and went on to write his own songs and stories. Recognized as “Child Author of the Year” by the Peruvian government’s INDECOPI program in 2025, Mark Joshua aims to inspire other children to dream big, create and never stop imagining:contentReference[oaicite:0].
