Synopsis

Truth Often Hides in the Shadows.

Katie wants nothing more than a normal teenage life. Friends, a first kiss, maybe even prom. Instead, her family is on the run and her mother won't speak to her or tell her what they're running from.

At her new school, an aggressive girl named April keeps cornering Katie with the same warning: "You can't handle the truth." Katie disagrees. She wants to know what's happening to her family and why everything feels so wrong.

When Katie finally gets a boyfriend and thinks things might be looking up, April's warnings become more urgent. Something is terribly wrong at home. Katie fears for her younger sisters, but every time she tries to uncover the truth, reality seems to shift around her.

The closer Katie gets to the answers she's desperate for, the more dangerous everything becomes. And April might be right about one thing: some truths are too devastating to face.

When the world as Katie knows it is turned upside down, she'll have to race against time to save her sisters before she loses them forever.

"The person sitting in front of me is the person created by your circumstances ... It's not the person you were born to be." ~April
