Synopsis
A journey to the lush, misty city of Telleklirin promises new sights for Tara, but it reveals a side of the gruff Dragon, Cayden, that she’s only had glimpses of—a loving uncle, a local hero, and a warrior haunted by a tragic past. It was supposed to be a simple trip, an escape from the dust of Eleutheria during the market audit. But as they travel deeper into the heart of Cayden’s family’s lands, the lines between a simple trip and something more begin to blur.
But the forests surrounding Telleklirin hold their own secrets. When a mysterious, beckoning fog leads Tara into the enchanted woods, Cayden is forced to reveal his terrifying Dragon form in a perilous confrontation. A reckless moment leaves Cayden fighting for his life and has Tara unleashing a fiery power she never knew she possessed.
In the misty, treetop city of Numestis, they find solace in a desperate bid for healing and a unique method of energy transfer. Back in the stone halls of Telleklirin, their close quarters causes their arrangement to ignite into a scorching, undeniable inferno as their bonds deepen into something tender and real. Stolen kisses, playful bickering that silences an entire royal hall, and nights spent tangled in each other's arms blur the line between duty and desire, leaving Tara to wonder if the man who claims he is incapable of love is telling the truth.
But just as Tara begins to hope for a future, Cayden’s demons return, threatening to shatter everything they’ve built. Faced with the ghosts of his past and the terrifying possibility of a future he never thought he wanted, will Cayden push Tara away for good, or will the Dragon blacksmith finally be brought to his knees by the one woman he can’t bear to lose?
