Synopsis

In a city called System, life runs on rules, schedules, and absolute control. Mistakes are rare and never ignored. When four teenagers break a regulation so small it seems harmless, the System responds with an unexpected sentence.

They are sent beyond the city, into an unmapped zone, on a mission to observe Michael Roanmore, a man who once chose to live outside the rules. The task is meant to be simple: watch, take notes, and return with proof that order is necessary.

But beyond the city’s borders, certainty begins to erode.

Michael Roanmore challenges everything they were taught to believe. The world around him refuses to behave as predicted. Slowly, the teenagers begin to question not only what they are seeing, but the rules they have lived by all their lives.

All the while, SET-9, a mimikron created by Regulus Morvis as part of The Net, the citywide surveillance project, moves silently through the shadows, recording every moment and reporting back. Yet even perfect data cannot explain what is happening.

Because the System planned for obedience, not choice.
