Vega is summoned by Baba Nata, the Witch of Nightmares, to go on a dangerous mission to reclaim the Ruby of Divine Wisdom. One doesn’t refuse a wicked witch—especially when she’s a beloved grandma with ailing health.

In order to retrieve the fabled gemstone with powers of healing, immortality and—Vega’s favorite—necromancy, she must go deep into dangerous territory in the Faerie Realm. Along her way, she will need to outwit trickster Fae, face mysterious monsters, and solve unusual murders involving a creature with a sweet tooth.

If Vega doesn’t succeed in retrieving the ruby, the person she loves most will die.
