He has sailed round Cape Horn and the world with school leavers, climbed and sailed in the Arctic, and skied and sailed in the Antarctic. He has been a mountaineering, skiing, and sea kayak instructor. He has received many awards over the years – Blue Water Medal, Tilman Medal, Goldsmith Medal for Exploration, Barton Cup, Vasey Vase to mention some. He has received a Piolet d’Or and was voted Yachtsman of the Year in UK in 2013. He has written books about his adventures… but "it is time I wrote about my faith".

He is a Reverend and an arctic explorer, and has sailed some 153,000 miles.
