"Such a cool brisk morning it was.... I can remember that day like it was only hours ago. Everything, including his face, is so vivid in my mind. Capturing the moment is no problem for me. I remember thinking that. " I wouldn't be gone too long. Just long enough to get in a quick morning run", or so I thought...
THE REST IS NOT EASY to say. This stranger, who had been stalking me without my knowledge, skidded across the road, and before I could do anything about it; he had me by the throat and a knife in my side. He told me not to scream and I might live. This man threw me into the pickup, screeched the tires, and turned it around. By this time, I could not understand why He very quickly pulled me with him over to the petunia pot where I had hidden my key. My world stopped.
As he unlocked the door with my key, I knew then that he must have been watching me, or the children, to know where we had hidden the key in the pot. But I thought, if he knew this, he also knew my family was home. This stranger knew where to find me and knew my children lived there as well. Why would he take me into my own home?
He spent the entire day in our house, beating on me, until he decided he would move on and find someone else, I suppose. Why this man left me alive is only understood after five years passed. This same man comes back again for me.......
