Synopsis

All present gods, goddesses, demigods, angels, demons and other supernatural beings were ‘created’ by man. Thousands of them are still being worshipped, not just one. They were conceived in an attempt to understand the world and to explain what man experienced. As long as people did not have sufficient scientific knowledge to understand natural phenomena or to answer questions about life, disease and death, he attributed much of it to supernatural forces and imaginary beings, good and evil ones. In this way, all gods were man-made, a kind of virtual brain prostheses to stop them endlessly wondering. The first virtual deities were probably the Sun and the Moon, the most recent one is Cargo. The Bible nor any other holy book mentions the creation of Neanderthals or Denisovans, but is it possible that these humans created their own gods already, before any modern human did?

Many of these virtual beings reflect the level of knowledge and the character of their human creators, as well as aspects and attitudes of the cultural environment in which their creators lived. Inuit did not think of ape, crocodile or jackal gods, nor a god with an elephant head, and people living in Egypt did not think of goddesses who created seals, sea lions, walruses or whales. In areas where no hurricanes or volcanoes were known, nobody came up with gods or other creatures to explain these impressive phenomena. Furthermore, without real gods, there can neither be angels bringing messages from them, nor prophets

Religious and sacred books do not only demonstrate lack of knowledge and use of fantasies, but are also marked by a series of incongruities and contradictions, subtle distortions and convenient selections.
