Synopsis
Freya Nickols made the decision long ago to devote her life to helping others after losing the people she cared about most. With the warnings from her father ringing in her mind, she was forced to live a half truth, at least until she could slay the demons from her past. To the town’s people, she was Doc Freya; the smart, charismatic, yet mysterious woman that helped shifters and humans alike. They didn’t see the woman that could wield a dagger just as easily as a scalpel. With her heart carefully guarded, she didn’t think she needed anyone… until a tall, blond-haired, blue-eyed man moved in across the street.
Graduating at the top of his class, Lucian Lyons became a hotshot detective in a large city swarming with crime. With his career thriving, it seemed as though nothing could go wrong, until tragedy struck and he was thrust into becoming a father of twin cubs. After six years of struggling to find a balance between his career and home life, he made a decision that would alter his future forever. With some interference from a nosey aunt and a new employment opportunity, he decided that moving back to the town he grew up in would be what was best for his children, even if that meant subjecting himself to confronting the reason he left in the first place.
Lucian knew that uprooting his family and starting a new life in the place he thought he left behind forever would be a challenge, but with one glance at the brunette beauty across the street, one deep breath of her intoxicating scent, he knew he had found his home.
