À propos de l'auteur

Sherman Gillums Jr., a native of Buffalo, New York, currently serves as an adjunct professor in the University System of Maryland. His 20-year career in public policy and executive leadership has centered on identities formed through hardship and the human consequences of institutional failure.A retired U.S. Marine Corps "Mustang" officer, Dr. Gillums holds degrees from the University of San Diego and the University of Dayton. His book, The Street: Weaponizing Pain, Unlearning Surrender, reflects his lived and scholarly interest in trauma, identity formation, survival, and the ways pain can be transformed into purpose. Drawing from his experience as a Marine and crisis leader in high-pressure institutions, Dr. Gillums examines how pain, pressure, and loss shape the identities people build to survive, and what it takes to unlearn surrender, reclaim agency, and convert lived experience into moral purpose.
