The Parables of the Last Judgment are presented in the Gospel of Matthew, who was one of the twelve disciples chosen by Jesus of Nazareth for the evangelization of peoples and the dissemination of his teachings to the entire Christian community. In Hebrew, Matthew is referred to as Matthew Levi, Levi of Alphaeus; also known as Matthew the Apostle. The parables of the Last Judgment are: a) Parable of the Two Sons sent to the Vineyard; b) Parable of the Murderous Vinedressers; (c) Parable of the Wedding Feast; d) Parable of the Fig Tree That Shoots Out; (e) Parable of the Watchful Servant; f) Parable of the Faithful and Wise Servant; g) Parable of the Last Judgment.
According to the three synoptic gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, when Matthew was called by Jesus, this apostle left everything to follow Him. In fact, that same day, Matthew celebrated Jesus' call in a big way, offering a great feast attended by Jesus and his other disciples. The purpose of Matthew's Gospel is to bear witness to the existence of Jesus Christ. His intention was to let the world know that the existence of Jesus fulfills all the prophecies cited in the Old Testament that speak of the Messiah. The Gospel of Matthew is truly ecclesiastical. The structure of its linguistic content symbolizes a concern from the apologetic priestly point of view, used in the first Christian generations.
