Synopsis
This is Dr. Powell’s second published book. His first, Lifelong Musings of a Wannabe Poet, was a collection of poems he wrote beginning as a child and continuing into his golden years. This book, The Definition of Insanity: My Half Century in Medicine, is the recounting of his career practicing medicine in rural, urban, international, and academic settings. Both books, the first in verse, this one in prose, are interconnected at many levels. Both give insights into his emotional responses to challenges in his life.
In this book, Dr. Powell has wanted to share his incredibly good fortune at being able to interact with hundreds of individuals involved in the art of healing from around the world. Follow his “journey” from an idealistic youth to a seasoned practitioner and world traveler in this brief account.
