The Wooden Ball tells the story of Sammy, who is a wooden ball. After Sammy gains consciousness he goes on an adventure experiencing the highs, lows, and utter awe of life. Along the way he meets, doesn't meet, or otherwise shares this experience with a koala, a walrus, a dragonfly, a pelican, some skateboarding monks, and others. Including you.

Joe Cullen is a writer of prose, plays, film, music, and poetry. His writing has been performed at Portland Center Stage, published in various independent literary magazines, and brought to the screen in several award-winning short films; The Wooden Ball is his first novel. In addition to writing, he’s an actor of film and stage and a musician. Outside of creating, he enjoys meditation and consciousness work, as well as vlogging.
