※This is the English title of the Japanese series “Napoleon no Kishi.”

Matiew has been taken on as a gardener at the residence of the Lady in Black. The construction of the grand garden the aristocrat dreams of has begun. Ernest, living underground and planning his revolution, finds himself in constant rivalry with Matiew and yet can’t help but be interested in what the other does. Seeing Matiew continue to persevere even when mocked by all of London begins to stir something up within Ernest’s heart. He questions what a revolution really is. What conclusion will he come to after agonizing over it?

The French Revolution, Napoleon’s War... In European society, as the old way of thinking that gave aristocrats and the church grand authority began to break down, people felt frustration as they confronted the ideals of freedom and equality and that led to a chaotic era where much blood was shed. This is the adventure story of a single gardener boy named Matiew who sets off on a journey to find the truth of who he is in such a world. Just who is he? Where did he come from? Does the Mother he sees in his dreams even exist? Who is the Lady in Black who seems to hold the key to all his answers...? This story is a mystery that takes place behind the scenes of the history you know so well. At last, the door of truth is getting close.
