Growing up in the East End of the 1950s was no walk in the park and it wasn’t until I stumbled upon the magic of music and cinema that I realised there was an amazing world extending far beyond the confines of my imagination.
In 1969, fate handed me a golden ticket; a job as a tea boy at Pye Studios. Little did I know, this marked the beginning of a remarkable 40 year adventure in the music business.
I crisscrossed the globe, recording some of the greatest artists of the time, rubbing shoulders with my idols, working with legends like The Who, Jimi Hendrix and ELO. Forming bonds with recording artists and movie stars such as Bill Haley, Peter Green, James Garner and Anthony Newley. The stories, laughter and occasional disasters are all captured here, straight from the pages of my diaries.
