Synopsis

From Nostalgia is Kurdi’s second collection of poems after his debut, Two Springs in a Year, released in 2020. Unlike the first collection, which touches on the world of confessional poetry written in free verse, From Nostalgia is a collection of lyric poems that goes through themes of love, nature, emotions, and imagination. These lyric poems express the poet's thoughts, feelings, experiences and reflections in a musical and emotional way. In fact, most of Kurdi's poetic lines make use of imagery, metaphor, and rhyme to deliver their message. With each poem, the poet intends to provide readers with a chance to experience longing, wonder, and the beauty found in the everyday moments of life. An excerpt from a poem is shown below:

In a windy eve of autumn, I found myself walking
Through a foliage-packed garden, to some heartwarming
The greenish grass that was once truly lively
Now too weak to stand and exist finely
I leaned down and caressed a leaf, fallen and senseless
Is it my heart, I wondered? Broken and restless
