Susan has never let the fact she was born with Down Syndrome hold her back, in fact quite the opposite. She is a well known face in the community of learning disabilities throughout Leeds. She has done so much to get the voices of people with learning disabilities heard through her tireless campaigning and ambassador role and speaking up for others. This lady has lived an incredible life and still continues to inspire others with her fearlessness.
Quote from Susan;
"Sometimes people with a learning disability are not listened to or do not understand they are being abused. They often don’t know what to do if they feel something is wrong. I want people to know they are being listened to and that information is explained to them in a way they understand to keep them safe. Because of what happened to me in the past I don’t want this to happen to other people".
