Synopsis

Twenty-year-old Michael is fed up with his life in London’s swinging sixties. He seeks new horizons and meaning in his life.

He embarks on a journey of discovery across Europe to a Greek island, but events in a country governed by a military dictatorship throw his travel plans into dangerous disarray, compounded by witnessing a violent death.

Along the way he meets several local island people whose extraordinary lives inspire him with a renewed self-confidence, courage and hope to seek out new possibilities in his life.

Michael is drawn to a group of remote islands where a hidden annual ancient Greek drama is acted out, culminating in a powerful rite of passage. Despite curfews and the ever-watchful eye of the police and military, Michaels’s life is about to change dramatically.
