When I think about the play that has had the greatest impact on my life and has given me the most memories, it often involves risky or nature play. Nature has a way of making me feel my best.

Nature play significantly contributes to a child's health and wellness. It encourages unscripted play and limitless exploration. Outdoor play ignites curiosity and teaches children to navigate risks, fostering self-regulation and problem-solving skills that form the foundation for future learning. It also strengthens their resilience and adaptability when things don't go as planned. It builds their confidence and self-esteem.

Instead of saying "be careful" when I notice a risk, I've found that allowing children to experience challenges firsthand enhances their safety awareness and promotes flexible thinking. I've observed that when children are given the freedom to pursue their own ideas, their learning outcomes are remarkably different from what I might have planned.
