Dr. Shahin Samadi is an Iranian-American author, entrepreneur, and technologist whose work explores identity, history, and cultural transformation through lived experience. Born and raised in Iran, his early life was shaped by Persian heritage and the profound societal changes surrounding the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Dr. Samadi holds a Ph.D. from George Washington University and has spent his professional career at the intersection of science, technology, and public service. He has held senior technical and leadership roles supporting major U.S. government agencies, including NASA, NOAA, and the Department of Defense, and has served as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University, teaching graduate-level courses. In 2003, he co-founded INNOVIM, a science and technology firm specializing in advanced data systems and analytics. Alongside his technical career, Dr. Samadi has written extensively on complex systems, leadership, and innovation. Currents of Being reflects his personal journey from Iran to the United States, blending memoir with historical and geopolitical insight to offer readers a nuanced understanding of Iran's past and its continuing influence on the present.
