Synopsis

Set before, during, then 50 years after world war three (WWIII), Dr. Saul Norman Pepper, genetically engineers humans whom he dubs "replicants". They stop aging at the age of 21, can regenerate missing limbs, organs, and damaged nerve tissue. They are three to seven times stronger than organic humans (dubbed "organics") of equal size, and have an average IQ of 200. Human cloning and genetic engineering are banned in European countries. Russia, the only other country to attempt genetic engineering, fails miserably as replicant babies are born deformed. Replicants are instrumental in winning world war 3. However, after WWIII ends, and the decades go by, replicants in the United States are no longer recognized for their efforts during the war, in fact they are persecuted. However, they are welcomed with open arms in now-unified Europe. But the problems in the United States are just beginning as a civil war seems inevitable.
